Manufacturing Day 2016 at Pioneer Service

High school students visited manufacturers and learned about careers in manufacturing.

On October 7th Pioneer Service hosted high school students for a Manufacturing Day event. The Valley Industrial Association coordinated with local high schools and the Technology Center of DuPage to have students visit various manufacturing companies in the Chicago area. We hosted two groups of students for presentations and tours.

Pioneer Service was one of 66 companies in the area registered with MFG.com  holding similar events on the same day. It was great to see how the movement to recruit youth to our industry is gaining momentum year after year.

Students saw how parts are made on CNC turning centers and on Swiss CNC’s and learned about various careers that are possible in manufacturing. Hopefully some will catch the vision and help us keep American making things!
